Support and advice before, during and after you get your stairlift

Your independence and safety are our priorities. That’s why we make the stairlift-buying process as simple as we can. Wherever you are in the US, we want you to know that you can regain the use of your home. If stairs have become a problem, there’s no need to move, and no need to stay trapped on one level.

To make your home safe and accessible again we need to provide a personalized service because everyone’s house is different, and everyone’s needs are different. From your first contact with us, we are there for you because we know how to help you get the most out of your home.

The First Step

Your first contact with us will most likely be on the phone, where you meet one of our team of friendly consultants. They are there to answer all your questions and to listen to what you need.

They might give you some advice over the phone, but chances are they’ll leave that to our specialist advisors. This is because the advisor will come to your house and talk to you in person. You don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home to get the information you need because they bring it all to you. The specialist advisor shows you what we can do for you and measures your stairs precisely, so that we can make a stairlift that fits into your home perfectly.

Choosing your lift

When it comes to choosing a stairlift, you probably won’t know where to start. That’s what our advisors are there for: to ask you the right questions to find out what you need. They take the time to find out about your mobility difficulties, and how a stairlift could help you get your freedom of movement back. They suggest the perfect model for you and even show you how we can customize it with different safety and comfort features and a selection of fabrics and prints to suit your home. The advisor looks at where the chair will sit when it’s not in use, which side of the stairs would be best to install your stairlift on and which chair would suit your needs best. They tell you if you need a straight or curved rail and tell you all about our options, like the powered swivel. By the time they leave you, they’ll have covered all the options and you’ll have a complete picture.

Should you rent or buy your stairlift?

This is something you should talk to a Stannah specialist advisor about during your stair survey. If you’re only going to need your stairlift for a short amount of time, it could be the most cost-efficient way of giving you or your loved one freedom of movement while your or their mobility is restricted. Maybe you’re having a relative come and stay for a short while, or you’re recovering from an operation or injury and know you’ll be back on your feet in no time – in these cases, renting a stairlift could be exactly what you need. However, it’s worth considering that many people end up needing their stairlifts for long periods of time, which makes renting more expensive in the long run. If you think that you’ll need your stairlift for the foreseeable future, you’re better off purchasing it outright after the initial rental period.

Either way, talk your options through with your advisor – they’ll take the time to understand what you want and need, and will be able to answer all your questions. However, in the meantime you can find out more about renting a Stannah stairlift here.

It doesn’t end there

Once you have your stairlift, you’ll get our market-leading warranty (may vary depending on your local dealer). On the off-chance something goes wrong, you’ll have access to a call out service, so you know we’re there for you if you ever need us.

We’re always here for you, so if you ever have a question, don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and give us a call. One of our friendly consultants will be more than happy to help you out.
